By cable car to the largest and highest alpine pasture in Europe at the foot of the Dolomites

The Schlern area, named after the local mountain Schlern stretches out in the western Dolomites. With its meadows, forests and mountain lakes, the high plateau is one of the most beautiful areas South Tyrol has to offer. The villages of Castelrotto, Siusi and Fiè are ideally equipped for guests. A little higher up is the vast Alpe di Siusi, the largest (and probably most beautiful) high Alpine pasture in Europe and a paradise for hikers in summer and skiers in winter. A cable car ride, a guided tour of the village of Castelrotto, a visit to an herb farm and the parish and village museum in Fiè will immerse you in the South Tyrolean way of life.
